Meditation number 108

Devastation Ps.46:8

« Come, behold the works of the Lord, what desolations he hath made in the earth »(Psalm 46:8).

What desolation in the news in so many parts of the globe. However, we must go beyond the sympathy and consternation that we are feeling for the thousands of victims and their bereaved families and beyond the sufferings and unmet needs of so many. We must be greatly stirred by these solemn warnings harbinger of much greater desolation on the horizon for the western nations who will not escape the judgments of the great tribulation. The reign of peace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (Ps. 46:9) must be preceded by these. What responsibility we have towards this soon perishing world to proclaim God’s offer of reconciliation, we beseech in the name of Christ, be ye reconciled to God (2 Cor. 5 :20). Time is short brothers and sisters – it is high time to awaken out of sleep so that Christ can shine upon us and unto others (Eph. 5 :14-17). He is coming very very soon!
